I personally think the blackout jersey is (was) the best jersey in the entire league. The neon was so bold, nobody else doing it, which is a big part of why its so awesome. I would love them to make it their "standard" home jersey. I can dream can't I????? For the new jerseys, I have only one hope and that is that they do NOT dare bring in f***ing Cowboy blue. DON'T DO IT!!!!
I think they moved off the blue idea after considering it during the 2013 rebrand. Mike Modano was one of the loudest voices in pushing them to focus on green back then, if memory serves.
While I have no moral objection to advertising, I do have a fashion one. They're just so tacky! The blackouts might be my favorite jersey in sports, but I'm excited to see what they come up with.
I suspect that the Texas state outline is going to be a bigger part of the Stars' branding going forward. The Stars like being the big fish in a small pond, market-wise, and leaning into a Texas aesthetic rather than something specifically Dallas-coded might be a conscious choice on their end—especially if Houston is getting a team sooner rather than later.
I'm not sure this was intentional; but, the juxtaposition of the Pittsburgh pictures where I see way more ads in the "pristine" jersey picture (Jofa, CCM, Rawlings, & Koho) versus the Crosby picture (CCM & BCBS) was pretty funny. You either didn't mean it or you've seen those equipment logos so much your brain doesn't even notice the ads. It gives you something to think about.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. But I do think there is a meaningful distinction between the manufacturer's name being on their own equipment and an unrelated company buying space to advertise.
It’s a slippery slope to the Euro trash look teams. The ads define the team. Not the team. Or the tourneys where they try to stick a 2 dimensional sticker on the front of round helmets - looks like crap!

I could see them doing the Star design from 1999...and using the Blackout color scheme...

I will not buy a jersey ANY jersey with ads on it!

I really liked the Winter Classic jersey. Wouldn't mind seeing that one come back around in some form again
Definitely the best one, no question. I don't really buy hockey sweaters, but I have that one.
East Bay kid here as well.
I have not worn the blackout sweater, but if I were to purchase one, I’d want that one.
