…all three (29, deBoer, Nill) are pros. No one is leaving.

Certainly that would be the path of least resistance.

Duchene’s the best. Whether he stays in Dallas or moves on, I can’t help but wish the guy the best… unless, of course, he ends up in Edmonton, in which case he will be dead to me.

Looking forward to seeing Seguin 100% healthy next year! Duchene has been a playoff question mark… how does that factor into his worth??? but he is a regular season star -Star! Team needs to keep him… imo…. but also, I’m not a fan of keeping Marchment especially on that line… get Duchene a guy who can skate :).

Thank you for the logical, rational coverage of the situation. Agree with everything you said here. I think it's normal for there to be some disagreements between coach and players. I certainly hope this doesn't go down a bad path and hope there is resolution internally, if it's needed. I'm one of the few who support Pete's comments. Tjr emotional piece ofnit was unusuaI but he's human. Love Otter but we needed him to play at a higher level that we know he is capable of. Sadly, Stuart Skinner did - those are the facts. Would like to see fans hold players more accountable than I'm seeing right now. Cannot put this all on the coaches - they cant score and stop the puck. What i have the biggest problem with is how flat and timid the players were in game 5. That the coach had to "spark" the team or motivate players in an elimination game is unacceptable and on the players. If the players are motivated and driven on their own, they are in the wrong profession. You're awesome, Robert. Proud to subscribe to your substack. 😀

This is the kind of content that makes me happy to be a subscriber. Duchene and Seguin are very impressive veteran players. I hope that the Stars find a way to bring Dutch and Granlund back. You need a few grownups on this team still stocked with a lot of players in their low to mid 20s.

New subscriber here. Great post. Have you done the math on who they can afford to keep (if any) of the UFAs?

Hey, thanks! The big question is who they're moving out. Because right now, they don't even have enough to bring back Duchene and Benn at three million dollars apiece. So they'll have to clear some cap room one way or another before deciding whom they're bringing back.

Were there no recorded interviews with Robo, Esa, Miro, etc?

I had just spoken with them earlier in the week. I'm guessing no other media members asked to speak with them since they're not pending UFAs or anything, but I can only speak for myself.
