It is Wednesday, July 23, and if you fell asleep before midnight like I did, you missed Brad Alberts’ latest little pre-announcement tease:

In the past, Alberts has posted this sort of thing as a precursor to Jim Nill’s GM of the Year award, Jake Oettinger’s extension, and other sorts of positive organizational news. This time around, the brief speculation centered on a few things, none of which turned out to be the right answer.

• A new third jersey

• A contract extension for Jason Robertson

• An outdoor game

• A contract extension for Thomas Harley
