Vegas Blinks First: the Adin Hill Strategy
it is early still, but this caught my eye today:
At Golden Knights morning skate in Dallas….looks like Adin Hill is in the starter net for Vegas.

In fact, Cassidy also seems to be practicing with a top line of Eichel, Hertl, and Marchessault. Given how ineffective most of Vegas’s forward depth has been so far this series, it’s little wonder Cassidy is trying new things. Of course, there could be some deception happening, too. When coaches feel pressure, they tend to start mixing things up and gettin’ all clever. Guess we’ll see what actually ends up happening.
Oh, and you probably saw it, but I expounded on Vegas’s depth issues (and Chris Tanev’s virtues) for D Magazine this morning. One nugget I loved is this:
Just one Vegas forward line other than Eichel’s has generated a 5-on-5 goal, and that was from Michael Amadio in Game 4. Dallas, by contrast, has gotten a 5v5 goal from every forward line.
