Novice hot take, but having witnessed Nathan's stint in Cedar Park first hand and his steady leadership vibe he gave off...as well as the fact he seemed larger than life among the other AHL'ers when on the ice...add to that the stats you gave above...then his size and ability to both be physical as needed but, for our offense, not easily intimidated by the competition...why did Nathan sit so much? Who, on the Stars, was that much better than him to sit him so much when he was 100%? Same with Erne...size, power, lack of intimidation, and productive. I'm not sure we have our star players and support role players allocated in the line up correctly, or defined correctly for that matter. Would love to see a real data driven take on Petro's time on ice production this year vs other d-men with more minutes.
