The Dallas Stars Penalty Kill Is Still Killing It
Just a quick note to mention my piece in D Magazine this morning about the Stars’ league-best penalty kill, led by Alain Nasreddine:
There’s more in there about the playoffs and such, but I did want to add one line from Pete DeBoer yesterday here that doesn’t necessarily translate to a magazine audience:
“We don’t agree on everything,” said DeBoer, “but it’s hard to argue with his record right now.” DeBoer then smiled a little and said, “I’m avoiding those conversations until he gets lit up for a couple.”
Given that DeBoer will be coaching the PK for Team Canada at 4 Nations next month, it’ll be fascinating to see how similar the Stars’ and Canada’s systems are, or aren’t—if for no other reason than to see who gets PK bragging rights.
