The Dallas Stars are beginning their 2024-25 Stanley Cup run this Saturday, April 19. Game 1 will be against the Colorado Avalanche, and you can be there!

Thanks to a generous reader, we are giving away two tickets in section 105, three rows from the glass. Here’s what the Virtual View looks like:

But how do you become eligible for this giveaway, you might ask? Great Question!

Oh, and before you ask: no, you do not have to be a subscriber to enter or anything like that. This is just a generous giveaway from a generous reader, and we figured this would be a good way to raise some money for good causes while also making two fans really happy.

With that said, if you would like to be cool and Subscribe to Stars Thoughts, it would make me very happy, as that is kind of the only way this thing exists. Free subscribers get lots of posts, and paid subscribers get even more (as well as some extra chats and podcasts and comments and things like that).

Okay, enough of that. Here’s how to enter the giveaway. I need a clever title for this section, so let’s just call it

How to Enter

1. Make a charitable donation of $20 or more to an organization of your choice.

2. Send a copy of the donation receipt to the site’s email inbox.

3. One entry per reader.

4. Be cool. (Don’t send the same receipt from multiple accounts or forge donation receipts like a goblin or anything. I’m not responsible for what Victor E Green will do if he finds out you cheated your way into those seats.)

That’s it. Donate twenty bucks and send us the receipt, and you’re entered to win two playoff tickets to Game 1 on Saturday.

After receiving all the entries, I’ll pick a winner on Friday afternoon (April 18) at 5pm, using a random number generator. I’ll then transfer the two tickets to the winner.

Whom Should I Donate To?

Great question! I decided not to limit donations to a single charity this time, so this part is up to you (provided you don’t choose the “Send Robert to Aruba Foundation” or anything). I’m open to partnering with a specific foundation for any future giveaways we might do, though.

That said, if you’re having trouble coming up with one specific charity, here are a few you could look into to see if they strike your fancy:
