It's really crazy that the Stars have the 2nd most points in the league and they're having to scramble to insure they get home ice advantage.
Meanwhile a team with 13 fewer points not only is looking at home ice advantage for 2 rounds of the playoffs, they will play a team in the first round that is currently 12 points behind the team Dallas will face in the first round.
I dunno...before that didn't like get eliminated on the final weekend 2 or 3 consecutive years? They were in that terrible place where they weren't really good enough to compete for anything but not bad enough to get top 5 draft picks.

Make it 1-8 by conference with division winners getting top 2 seeds (otherwise, why even have divisions?).
