I would argue that Bischel can be moved for the right price. He could provide a team without the logjam on the Left side much more value than he gives the stars on the 3rd pair. If Nill could convince a team to pay a premium for a Top4 Defensive talent on a bargain contract, I think it could be one of the necessary moves to get this team over the hump.
This is an interesting idea. It would basically replicate the Dillon trade from 2014, but it wouldn't clear cap space, so you'd still have to make room with another move.
But honestly, I don't know that they would ever want to trade Bichsel after seeing what he can do in the playoffs, even when dealing with a shoulder injury. It's something to consider, but I think they're resigned to keeping Heiskanen on the right side for now. They saw what compromising on quality to add RHD can do, and it's not great.
I agree. I would consider it like trading Robertson. Not something youre looking to do, but if you can staple Dumba to Bicshel and get a quality piece in return, I don't think you hang up the phone.
We saw him in the playoffs, but so did every other GM. He may not get the same "playoff bump" as someone like Sam Bennett, but I still think his value may be perceived as higher than it truly is.
Strictly speaking, the Stars can move Rantanen until July 1. That’s when his new deal with the NMC kicks in. That said, it seems like such a remote possibility as to be non-existent.
Too bad you can't restructure contacts! Seguin would be a prime candidate for that.

That's right.
Klingberg would be one of my first calls in FA, might be able to land him on a sweetheart deal
