Wild that this team can suddenly and comfortably close out third periods without collapsing. I would very much like for that trend to continue.

DeBoer tonight joked about this! Here's what he said, with a wry chuckle:

"I thought our 5-on-6 was excellent. When you think about, we hold the record for giving up, what was it, three goals in a minute (against Vancouver late in the season), the worst 5-on-6 in NHL history late in the season? So we obviously fixed that."

Tell him I said thanks for addressing my concern, and I’m happy to let him know what else they can do if he’s interested

One thing I havent really thought about. The depth of the Stars is not just vital 5 on 5 but also on the PP. Looking at the personnel of the two PP units, I mean thats 1A and 1B. I think every team would kill to have those two units

Robertson-Johnston-and a cast of thousands is our 4th line now?

That's just not fair.

Hey Robert, I know it's super late when you posted this, but there were a few grammatical and spelling errors in this piece that made it a touch annoying to read from a professional publication. Can we do a bit better with a proofing read?

I appreciate your content, thank you and I subscribe, but would like it to be a touch more polished.

Thanks for the honesty, Ben. Those bug me every bit as much as they do y'all, so I think this is a fair expectation. AfterThoughts will be up in a moment, and they'll be cleaner since they're not written in the moment while all the game action is happening. But nonetheless, I'll endeavor to do better to avoid the sloppiness in the future.

For the record: I write these in the Substack editor because things don't always paste correctly when I write elsewhere and move it over, but the editor's spellcheck standards are *insanely* incomplete, and despite messing with the autocorrect function as much as I can, it often changes stuff autonomously without my noticing it in the moment. A proofing read at midnight is not my favorite thing, but you're right to point out that it makes a big difference. Appreciate your reading.

Another thing about Jamie’s dive at the puck at the end of the period. He did it without incurring a tripping penalty. Of course, that was before his pig-pile jump on the scrum.
