This is really good stuff.

In the offseason, would you consider a short series comparing different kinds of "systems" that coaches and teams use? Pete's system vs. Monty's or Bednar's or Cassidy's or even someone like Roy, Cooper, or Tocchet? I don't watch enough of other team's games to be able to tell the difference and I think that could be interesting. Just an idea.

We'll definitely be doing a lot of analysis in the off-season. How much of that will be coach-related is an open question, but I think there's a way to do that without getting too overbearing, yeah!

Great analysis. I was at the game Saturday and that is what it felt like. Trying to generate offense, we committed too many turnovers. Never had sustained pressure except for 2 - 3 instances. The game felt like a 1 goal game even at the end. The fact shots on goal were even confirms that.

Yeah, they're right there. Just need to stop giving up easy rushes the other way and actually beat the other goalie.

What I’m seeing is that the fans are right with the simplest solution. You discredited it and then said they should do it. Occam’s razor strikes again😉

This might be a great idea!

The NHL does a poor job of having league experts explaining coaching systems, compared to the NFL for example. From the Payton-casts, to the Grudin QB tests (no more victory Payton-cast wannabes -please!!!!).

It’s not like the other teams don’t know what they’re doing, so it’s only a secret from us :))). Some of Spotts YouTube’s have some of the teaching systems vibes…
