Why do you say the roster is “nearly set”? They have done nothing to solve the 5v5 scoring problem and the 6 defensive players don’t solve the being more offensive according to what the GM wants? Appears to me it is far from set!!!
Just counting bodies and cap space. The path of least resistance, for the moment, is for Robertson to come back after arb or QO or whichever. They can always make trades after that, but it seems most likely that no more significant UFA signings are coming at the moment.
I agree with that. But it seems like the trade route isn’t finished!! Can’t imagine this team with two long term expensive contracts and no other upgrades. Don’t think they want to end up like Blackhawks post Kane and Toews. Something has to be in works.

That’s why Duchene - Marchment- Seguin worked. Pretty obvious who is who. Hintz can create, but Roberson and Seguin are both shooters. Neither are above average puck battkers. Hintz can’t do it all.

I know the players need to get all they can get, when they can, but I don't think this is good for the game. I love Jamie and Tyler, but I have to tell you if I was an owner, I would not give ANY player longer than a 6 year deal. 8 year deals are total BS, and almost no player ages that well. It seems like the league, and their process, is creating their own problem. My 6th row on the blue line tickets in Anaheim will run me $169 this coming season (they were $40 in 1993 the inaugural season). I wonder what they will be in 3 to 5 years, especially if Anaheim remains competent.
