Do you think the "upper body" "lower body" nonsense is worth doing? If a player has a knee injury, will calling it a lower-body injury make him less likely to be targeted by the opposition?

I think it’s as much a comfort thing as it is an actual protection. Many injuries are easy to figure out if teams or opposing players wanna do that. But some players will still tell you they believe it’s necessary to be vague, so who am I to argue?

Rants has to make it back for the Islanders game, right? After seeing the absolutely bonkers histrionics of Patrick Roy, he needs to make that game just for the laughs. But in all seriousness, I don't trust Roy's old-school thought process. I would absolutely not want to see him come back for that game just to have some oaf re-injure him for "payback".

I’ve been thinking about that game since the calendar turned to March. Probably best he doesn’t play for that one IMO, but I’m kinda risk averse.

Same for me. Patrick Roy is old school NHL and he has anger management issues. The Stars are playing for bigger stakes. This might be their best team since the Stanley Cup team.

I don't personally think the team would hold him out for that game for fear of retaliation, but considering it's right on the edge of his projected return timeline, he probably doesn't play in it regardless.

“It’s not like they’ll slash his foot again, and get away without any consequences”… oh yea, this is the nhl…

My theory on Faksa’s second injury is that Darnell Nurse snuck into the Stars practice facility and whacked him when no one was looking.

I guess I can’t technically disprove this

It’s my theory. That is to say, it is mine.

Great stuff.

On the additional depth points, the addition that might actually help the Stars the most might turn out to be Tyler Myers. The Stars can now roll out defense pairs that include Miro and Eva, a pair that includes Thomas Harley who now looks like himself and an improving Nils Lundqvist, and two very large humans who play mean and seem to be winning board battles more frequently. When Lian Bichsel fully realizes that he can also skate very well, lug the puck up ice himself, and generate offense above "defensive defenseman" levels, he is going to be a terror in this league. He is already a noticeably better player today than he was as a very young rookie.

Their third D pair really does look great right now, truly.
