I thought it was neat! I don't know if I'd read into it too terribly much, though. Mikko Rantanen went to his first Cowboys game ever a couple weeks ago, so maybe he just didn't want to make the drive a second time.
As far as future captains, I think it's still 96 and 53 way ahead of the pack. Will just depend on timing.
