The top 9 forwards are still slumping, both offensively and defensively, but maybe they are showing the beginning signs of coming out of it. They're not there yet. Thomas Harley is looking more like Cale Makar every day. Jake was solid today. He's also showing signs of coming out of a bit of a goalie slump (for him, anyway). Power play was not good, which didn't help. And give the Flyers some credit for playing a very good road game, especially in their own end.
Yeah, that's kind of where I'm at. It's a mix of good and bad right now, but they're still getting points, which means they don't have to pull the fire alarm completely. That's probably good in the long run, so long as they get their game sharpened up in the next couple weeks.
Yuck. I guess getting points while playing poorly is a sign of a good team but what this team has been putting on the ice for 2-3 weeks now won't come close to beating the quality teams in the NHL. They have to improve quickly or the 2025 season is gonna be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
My vote is put Steel up with Duchene, drop Marchment… who most shifts doesn’t look like even a 4th liner… personally I think that Smith at wing had much more positive effect each shift!
I don't think moving fourth liners up is the answer. Marchment needs to get back to where he was before his injury, and Steel is helping that fourth line roll.
I dont see us getting through the first round when playing like this. Am I the only one concerned about Rantanen not driving play like we are used to seeing? I know it took a while for Pavelski to find his groove with the team but I don't think the Stars have the luxury of time with playoffs in a few weeks.

Agreed completely.
