Roope has been playing beautiful, smart hockey lately. Lindell is still my personal #1, but Roope’s been on fire. These Finnish players are, like, really good or something 😎
Totally… it would have been nice to see this caliber of play in, say, Finland. But let’s not relitigate 🤷♀️
Speaking of Level Fun, Pius Suter is an A+ name. Or maybe I just needed a reason to Google what the color puce looks like, not for the first time and likely not for the last.
It's really impressive that the Stars are picking up points when they have so many reasons or excuses not to.
I'm an unapologetic Jamie Benn fan. That being said, I really do believe he has a lot to do with the team holding the fort. Pete Deboer's changes and adjustments as well.
I enjoyed my morning after a game reading here at Stars Thoughts. I've resisted Substack for far too long. J'aime les mots.
Merci! Yes, I think winning ugly is a skill great teams have. Easy to win when everyone is rolling, but piecing a win together when you have issues is a must over 82 games. Gotta have those guys who'll keep people's chins up.
Great to see two things in particular: Robo scoring on the PP and Roope scoring on a breakaway. Both have happened far too infrequently this season, but they’re so important if the Stars are going to realize their potential. Roope is a cinch as a regular, 40-goal man if he can finish just a handful more of his many breakaway chances. And Robo’s resurgence the last month-plus is bound to get the PP back where it belongs.
They've finally gotten all those things they be moaned the lack of in the first half, and it is clearly a big relief! They'll need them over the next month while they hold the fort.

That breakaway goal for Roope wasn't going in oftentimes in the first half. It's been a lot of fun to see things ramp up to Level Fun.

Pius! Aatu! Quinn! Thatcher! That team is full of gems. Linguistic ones, at least.
