Wonder if the NHL might try to channel an NFC East matchup in the Stadium Series game next season. Dallas vs. either NY, Philly or Washington. Might be apropos for a game at AT&T Stadium. Likely would generate better TV ratings than Minnesota, too.

Not a fan of any outdoor games. The NHL should end them. They were a novelty for the first few years, but it has long ago worn off.

Sitting 28 was key... He's looked like cr*p for a month. Good win

I think there are plenty of others to pick on that haven’t played their best. This was a good team win.

No, Petro was objectively bad almost every game over that span. Ideally he's a 7th D not a starter, and definitely nowhere near top 4. It's no mystery that Dallas still needs a solid top 4 Dman and at least one top 6 winger after Seguin's injury.

I like what Capo brings to the table.

I would SO MUCH rather see Capobianco out there. He's got some rizz to his game and doesn't handle the puck like it's a hand grenade like Petro.

What the heck did I watch tonight. It was so beautiful from beginning to end. It's great to see that the Stars are capable of playing this well. For at least the last 6 games, I had my doubts.

BTW, Logan Thompson had a phenomenal game after a shaky start that included the first goal. But for his stellar goaltending, the score might have been 6-1 or 8-1, the Stars were that good tonight.

More of this, please.

1. Faksa taking a low-danger shot and scoring on the rebound to take an early lead the Stars would not relinquish.

2. An 85.7% share of high-danger-chances-for (even strength) in the second period while leading by a goal, and an equally beautiful 50% share in the third period while up by two goals. Tack on a 67.8% share of expected-goals-for (EV) over three periods.

3. Forwards coming back low to facilitate quicker defensive zone exits, dogged forechecking plus greater sustained pressure in the offensive zone at 5v5.

4. 36 shots-on-goal on 44 shot attempts.

The breakouts in particular were noticeably better. Definitely something I’m curious to see if they can keep up against other forechecks.

This was one of the better executed games I've watched, strategically speaking. The Stars defending the NZ way better and forced Washington into a lot of errors they generated offense from. Ideally, this is how they want to pressure teams. Reminds me of Vegas in 2023 when they won their Cup.

Also, officiating seems biased. The refs held their whistles this game on a few pretty obvious calls (Leonard's slash on Mikko in the high slot, two interference calls on Duchene, etc). The Stars will need to continue to be disciplined to get in the good graces of the refs, which is stupid because penalties are penalties.

Come on😄, the refs are not biased. They are aggravatingly inconsistent between the different crews and, worse in my opinion, within the same game. The game is so fast now, I don't know if they can keep up.

Refreshing to see the team play like a team. I like Petro a lot, but Capobianco looked great and brought a lot of jump. Would be very open to seeing them trade off more often, especially with Bichsel not in the lineup at the moment (since we know he pairs well with Petrovic).

I was afraid Roope would never find the back of the net!! All those shots and almost nothing to show for it. He deserved the ENG for sure!

The TNT broadcast excels at one very important thing: reminding me how good Razer and Bogorad are.
