I didn't see any problem with the Gavrikov fall into Seguin. Sometimes guys on skates, even professional hockey players, lose their balance and fall into other guys. That doesn't mean there's nefarious intent. An unfortunate play, but not a dirty one by any means.
re: trivia - I credit this to paying attention in class... heard on the broadcast that Lyubushkin is the one Star without a goal. (I was always a good student that way.)
Unrelated, I really wish I could watch a whole game without a Stars player being helped off the ice.
Question for you and your readers — I think the NHL should evaluate creating a new penalty. Just as the NFL can flag both defensive and offensive pass interference, the NHL should be able to penalize defensive holding and offensive “arm pit clamp” . Perfect example was the arm pit clamp executed against Oskar Back. That was not defensive holding in my book, and occasionally calling an offensive player for that hockey crime would introduce some cleaner play and less nonsense.
Occasionally you will see Holding the Stick called on the offensive player there to offset the original hooking or holding call, but it's probably rarer than it ought to be. I think it's just easier to see a player reaching than a player holding onto them, so the former penalty is far more likely to get called most times.
Pretty gutted that this is happening to Tyler. He has worked so hard to get back and has sparked the team in multiple situations. I'm trying to be optimistic but YEESH did that look bad.
While being optimistic, I am also wondering what Jim Nill is thinking as worst case/Plan B. I know we should wait and see before thinking this stuff, but If Seguin is done for the season, how much of his cap hit do we get to use when he hits LTIR. If he can't get back for the playoffs, new cap rules say we could still build more depth with that money, right?
This all sounds awful, but I am trying to look at some bright sides in case he's out long-long term. We can't replace him, his personality, and his leadership at all. But, I am trying to think of other options if that becomes reality.

Yeah, he’s not trying to hurt anyone there. At worst, it’s careless.

Thanks for your in depth analysis.

Agreed, but I like the sound of “arm pit clamp” as a referee call!
