I'm in the minority (I'm probably the only one) when saying the Seguin and Benn contracts were awful. Sure they were playing pretty well back then, but neither warranted the money they got for the term. If Nill loses Robertson it'll be because of signings like Seguin and Benn. This is where I wish the management would be just a tad bit like Vegas'.

Eh, I think both deals were pretty much must-do's when they did them. They didn't have a Seguin replacement lying around.

*phew* That's a lot to digest. But also fascinating. I'm most curious about this trade deadline. Jim Nill generally manages (pun intended) to surprise us every year with his creativity in making things work and not hurting the long-term too much. I guess that's why he's sitting in his chair and we're not!

And thanks Matt!

So pretty much one more tough offseason to navigate before some decent cap space opens up in 2027.

Get Robo resigned. Flip Lyubushkin to help fill in the roster next season. Plan on using the remaining draft capital to supplement the team mid-season (like this year).

Guessing Robo switching Agents is at least a positive sign that his preference is to stay in Dallas.
